Please wear natural fibers like cotton and denim and closed toed shoes. Avoid flowing sleeves or skirts and dress in layers. Some parts of the studio are cold and some are hot, hot, hot!
-
It’s important to arrive on time to be present for the safety demo. Arriving more than 15 minutes late is disruptive to the other students and may result in forfeiting your class experience. If you know you are going to be late please contact the studio ASAP so that we can plan accordingly.

During workshops, please park in the Michigan Spline Gage lot at 1626 E 9 Mile Rd, Hazel Park MI. Look for our sandwich board that says “Rusty Bug Parking.” Once parked, walk around to our front door on 9 mile. If you have a mobility concern, there are a few parking spots in front of our white building. Call us if you have any questions.
-
We do not offer refunds on classes once they are booked. If you are unable to attend a class due to an illness or emergency please contact us ASAP. In these cases we may offer a class credit minus a $20 rebooking fee. Our workshops require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies and booking staff. When students ask to cancel or reschedule at the last minute, we lose money. As a small business, we are unable to absorb these costs and still keep our prices low.
-
It varies depending on the item being made. Each workshop typically has between 8 and 14 students. We like to keep the class sizes small so that students are engaged and not spending too much time waiting for a turn.
-
Hot glass requires a few days to cool slowly or “anneal” on site, so it’s not possible to take your item home immediately after class. You can either arrange to pick up your glass project the following week, or we can mail it to you. Shipping starts at $20 per piece.
